WELCOME!
Welcome to a family-run camping site situated in the centre of a verdant island in the middle of a blue sea.
We who know just how important relaxation is for present-day families during their camping holidays. And ideally at a site where nature provides an inviting spot for them to be together, away from their chores at home.

If by chance you do not have your own tent or caravan, don’t give it a second thought because we have cosy mini-houses to sleep 4 or 6 persons for you to choose from. They are illustrated at the top right-hand corner of this page.
You are welcome to take your dog along too.

We both look forward to creating a site where the whole family becomes the centre of attention. Children big and small, parents, grandparents and last but not least the family dog – all are welcome.

AND NOW TO SOME TIT BITS ABOUT THE SITE

Individual locations
You can count on an inviting atmosphere. The perimeter comprises high hedges to provide a certain privacy for the individual locations. Five paths all display old vegetation such as trees, bushes, loads of perennials and other fine flowers. Furthermore, the majority of long-term caravaners display pretty flowers in their beds.

Luxurious bungalows
We have 7 luxurious bungalow. They all have a fully equipped bathroom, fully equipped kitchen with an oven, and room for 6 persons. One of the houses is made especially for persons with a habdicap, so you will be able to use a wheelchair easily around the house.
They can be rented around the year.

Mini houses
There are 14 mini houses, 10 of which can accommodate 6 persons, and the remaining four accommodate 4 to 6 persons. They all have a kitchen area with a fridge plus indoor- and outdoor seating capacity. Rentals are available on a weekly basis. This applies even when the weather gets colder.

Outdoor & indoor activities
Activities range from an 18-hole mini-golf course to a gigantic chessboard complete with large chessmen. Also outdoors are a football pitch, a table tennis table, a croquet set plus badminton- and basketball nets. Children will find the outdoor trampoline invigorating fun with its adjacent grassy space.
In the event it should rain in Denmark, two recreation rooms are at guests’ disposal – one with an open fireplace & and room for dining, another with a billiard table, dartboard, a mechanical football game and carom billiards have been installed. There are also a number of indoor games to keep the children occupied.

Shop and fresh breakfast rolls...
Combined with the reception office there is a well-assorted shop to cater for everyday needs. Tempting fresh locally-baked bread and rolls are available each morning provided you place your order in advance.

Children are usually fascinated by the lively rabbits in their hutch. They are certainly welcome to feed them a treat in the way of carrots for example. And if luck plays its part, a hare or pheasant will run by when you are on your way to take your morning bathe or pick up bread and rolls.

THE REGION

Stege Nor
Keldby Camping is established on a well-chosen site centrally placed on the island, surrounded by fields not far from Stege town with its own inland saltwater lake called the Nor.

Frescos and Golf
Near to the site is Keldby village whose church is the home of some of the finest and oldest frescos in the world. In the opposite direction just along the main road the site is neighbour to one of Denmark’s most attractive 18-hole golf courses.

Stege and the Middle Age...
Stege town, dating back to the Middle Age, is but 5 Km. away – a charming place where the well-preserved town gate and ramparts date back from the Middle Ages.

The nearest beaches
And are there any good beaches you may ask. Yes there are  in fact. On the south coast at Råbylille 2 Km. away you will find a beautiful sandy beach. To the north there is a long pebbled beach, edged by lovely woods belonging to Nordfeldt Gods (an estate). After a short drive up to and through the public estate yard, a road will lead you on into the woods and finally to the beach.

Møns Klint
15 Km. to the east on the Baltic coast you will discover stunning white chalk cliffs known as Møns Klint. According to legend, this is where Denmark was created. Cool beech woodlands and rare wild orchids are there too, yet please note a preservation order has been placed on the orchids. When out at Møns Klint, do not forget to look out for the majestic peregrine falcon, which in 2001 gladly returned to renew its breeding at the cliffs.
You can read more about Møns Klint, Ulvshale, Nyord and other places on Møn on www.dn-lokal.dk

Birds, meadows and the village of Nyord
Bird-lovers may also wish to take a drive up to the north-western peninsular at Ulvshale, where meadows bordering the north and south sides of the wood serve as breeding grounds for an abundance of migratory birds. It’s also worth driving onwards across the causeway, through low-lying pleasant meadows, to reach the island of Nyord where a tower open to the public enables visitors to observe birdlife at their leisure.
In this ornithological paradise, the village of Nyord with its pleasure-craft harbour remains completely untouched by modern culture. Old courtyards and a grocer’s shop from bygone days still exist. Cars are not allowed to enter the village, although there is parking space outside. A village where peace and quiet abound.

Go fishing - from the cost, a fishing vessel or from a put & take lake
For all those who are keen on fishing, there are numerous places along the coast where fine conditions can be found. If you prefer to fish out at sea, the “ Discovery “ fishing vessel moored at Klintholm harbour on the southeast coast runs trips. An alternative is Put and Take at a lake in Nyborre, only about a ten minutes’ drive away. Also not to be missed is a trip on the tourist boat at Klintholm, because out at sea it includes impressive views of the magnificent cliffs at Møns Klint.

Art & Culture - please visit our links
Art and culture thrive on Møn. Details about individual artists and their handicrafts, as well as locations of restaurants, can be found by clicking links on this webpage.

Experience Møn from a horseback
What about experiencing the island from horseback? Horse or pony hire takes place at Stenagergaard just two hundred meters from our site. Should you prefer Islandic horses, we suggest you drive to Sømarke Islænder Centre to the east.
It offers a two-hour tour in the countryside at both Møns Klint and Klinteskov wood.

Møns Familie Camping is an ideal starting place when you want to be close to almost everything.
